Unpopular opinion: I don't get the hype around fermented foods in fine dining.

Forgotten kimchi turning funky seems pretty normal for a home experiment though... feels like a stretch to blame chefs for hiding cheap stuff like @felix_wilson86 mentioned. Fermentation is just tricky and things go weird sometimes, it doesn’t have to be some big conspiracy. My cousin’s sauerkraut once smelled like a gym locker, but it was just his own bad timing. Kinda think we’re overcomplicating a simple fridge mistake.

Helping a client overcome haircut nerves with a simple conversation

Understand that for some people, hair isn't just hair, it's part of how they see themselves. A bad cut can feel like a public mistake you have to wear every day for months. That fear often comes from past experiences where a barber didn't listen and just started cutting, leaving them feeling powerless. Telling someone "it'll grow back" brushes off their real worry and can make them feel silly for caring, which doesn't help anyone relax.

A remote cabin job forced me to learn solar-powered alarms

Actually tried solar for some outdoor security lights last year. Total pain to set up at first with all the wiring and battery stuff. Felt ready to chuck the panels into a ditch by day two. But once it was running, seeing those lights come on for free every night was pretty cool. Makes you wonder why we don't use that free sun power for more things.

Crawled under a house today and the mud was so bad I lost a boot.

Okay, losing a boot in the mud sounds rough (and messy). But how bad was it really? I feel like a boot doesn't just vanish, it probably got stuck and you had to leave it. Sounds like you might have given up on it a little too easy, to be honest. I'm having a hard time buying that it was a total loss.

Pro tip: My home AC tweaking hobby made me better at spotting leaks

@abbyclark That's how you spot issues before they blow up.
