Debate: Should we still run coax to every room or go all Ethernet?
I was on a job in a new build last week and the homeowner wanted coax in every room for cable TV. I told them nobody uses that anymore and they got pissed. Makes me wonder if we're just wasting time or if there's still a reason to keep doing it. What do you guys tell customers?

Yo I heard somewhere that a lot of smart home stuff like sensors and some security systems still use coax for data, so it's not totally dead yet.

Honestly @thomas.piper, coax is like that old friend who just won't leave the party even after everyone else has gone home. It's sitting in the corner with a half-empty cup, still being useful for a few specific things but mostly just getting in the way. Ngl, every time I see a coaxial cable in a modern setup I half expect it to be powering a rotary phone or something. Tbh the smart home industry moves so slow with standards that we'll probably see coax in new builds until 2030.
