Found out my old boss was still using the same truck from 1992

Was scrolling through some old company photos a guy posted on Facebook and spotted my old foreman's rig. That white Ford had 340,000 miles on it when I left in 2007. Looked up the plate number out of curiosity and it's still registered to the same shop in Wichita. Has anyone else run into a van or truck that just refuses to die after decades of hauling cable reels?

Ngl, I gotta push back on that a little. 340k miles on a 1992 Ford is less about quality and more about luck and basic maintenance. Those old trucks had plenty of problems too, they just didn't have all the sensors and computer stuff to alert you. A worn out engine can keep running if you keep dumping oil in it and changing filters, but that doesn't mean it's well built. Most of those Fords from the 90s were notorious for rusting out and having transmission failures around 250k. One truck lasting that long is the exception, not the rule. Surviving doesn't equal being built better.

That old Ford sounds like a tank lol. Had a similar situation with an old box truck at my last place that just kept going past 400k with basic oil changes and brake pads. Sometimes those older models were built way simpler and tougher than the new stuff.
