A dab of nail polish saved a customer's leaf shutter and my Saturday

Had an old Retina IIa on the bench with a leaf shutter that would hang up maybe one time in twenty. I cleaned the blades twice, still sticky. My mentor Ray told me to dip a toothpick in clear nail polish, that's it, nothing fancy, and put the tiniest dot on the pivot points. It worked, and the shutter has fired clean for two weeks now. Has anyone else used clear polish on leaf shutter pivots, or do you stick with graphite?
