DAE have a trick for getting a stuck shutter curtain on a Pentax K1000 to move again without forcing it?
I was cleaning a friend's camera from a garage sale in Phoenix and the second curtain just froze solid after I blew some dust out with a rocket blower, so now I'm stuck with a half-open shutter.

My buddy had the same thing happen with his K1000. He let it sit in direct sunlight for ten minutes to warm up the old grease. The curtain finally snapped shut on its own.

Wait, that actually works? I've got an old Pentax with a sticky curtain I've been babying for years. Might have to try the sunlight trick this weekend.

Ever read that old tip about using a hair dryer on low heat from a safe distance? I saw a forum post where someone gently warmed the curtain for a few seconds and it freed up. Might be less harsh than direct Phoenix sun, @the_emery. The idea is to soften the old grease without cooking the camera. Just keep it moving and don't get it too hot.
