Pro tip: watch out for the guy who 'fixed' his own lens with super glue
I had a guy walk into my shop last month with a Canon 24-70 that was totally seized up. He said he glued a loose barrel piece back on with super glue and it seeped into the helicoid threads. Took me 4 hours and $85 in parts to undo that mess. Has anyone else dealt with customer DIY jobs that made things way worse?

4 hours and $85 seems a bit high for super glue cleanup honestly. I've seen way worse shit that got fixed in half the time with some alcohol and a careful hand.

Yeah @ben402, everything seems to cost more time and money than it should these days...
