PSA: that $4 camel hair brush set cleaned my shutter curtains better than anything

Bought a 5 pack of artist brushes at the art store last week to clean a beat up Pentax Spotmatic, and the soft bristles lifted 40 year old gunk off the cloth without shredding it, has anyone else tried paint brushes on focal plane shutters instead of the usual swabs?

Oh man, that's genius! I actually saw a video last week where this repair guy used artist brushes on shutters and he swore by them for the same reason. He said the bristles are soft enough to get into the crevices without bending the curtain springs. I grabbed a cheap set from the dollar store after that and tried it on my F2, worked way better than the q-tips I was fighting with before. The key is to get the ones with the really fine tips, not the chunky flat ones.
