Rangefinder patch went dark mid-shoot, here's what I did in the parking lot
Yesterday I was testing a Yashica Electro I just got off eBay and halfway through my 3rd roll the rangefinder patch just vanished. Turned out the beam splitter had fogged from humidity, it's been raining here in Portland all week. I pulled the top plate in my car with just a jeweler's screwdriver and a q-tip, dried the prism with lens cleaner, and it snapped back to clear. Has anyone else dealt with that green haze on old Yashicas, or is it usually the mirror that goes?
