Took me 8 hours to level a single mobile crane pad today

Honestly I thought I could just rough-grade the spot and throw down some mats. But the ground was way softer than I expected after all that rain last Wednesday. Spent the first three hours digging out mud and hauling in crushed stone from the yard. Then another five hours tamping and rechecking with the transit until it was within a quarter inch. Has anyone else had a simple setup turn into an all-day battle with bad soil?

Who else blew cash on a fancy knife that's worse than the old one?

I dropped $180 on a high-end German chef's knife from a catalog last month, and it arrived duller than my $30 Mercer I've had for 3 years. After 20 minutes of stropping and still not getting a good edge, I just went back to my old beat-up blade. How do these companies get away with selling overpriced junk to butchers like us?

Why does nobody talk about using page numbers in the index?

I kept losing track of where my monthly logs ended up because I flip around so much. Started numbering each page as I go and listing the page numbers in my index for collections. Has anyone else found a simple tweak that made their bujo way easier to keep up with?

Broke a $4 spatula trying to flip a frozen hashbrown patty yesterday

The handle just snapped clean off at the plastic joint, left the patty half flipped and smoking in the pan. Anyone else have cheap kitchen tools fail at the worst possible moment?
