Spent 3 hours chasing a light leak on a Rolleicord before I realized my changing bag was the problem
I kept resealing the back with new foam and still got fogged edges on every roll, which drove me nuts for a week. Then I loaded a test roll in a dark closet instead of my changing bag and the fog vanished, the zipper on that bag had a tiny gap letting light in. Anyone else get burned by their own darkroom gear instead of the camera?
That "changing bag was the problem" line hit me hard because I did the same thing with a leaky bag last year. I tore apart a perfectly good camera three times before I figured it out. Now I ALWAYS test the bag first by sticking a bright light inside and closing it up in a dark room. Takes two minutes and saves days of pain. Gear fails way more often than our brains want to admit.
