The $3 flathead I use for shimming turns out to be a 1950s spanner

Found out while cleaning out a junk drawer that my go-to tool for prying open stubborn lens rings is actually a vintage 1950s spanner wrench worth around $60 on eBay, has anyone else accidentally used a collector item for shop work?

Got a similar kick recently. Bought a beat-up old brass level at a garage sale for $2 to use as a paperweight, found out it's some 1940s surveyor thing worth a hundred. Now it sits in my toolbox getting banged up anyway, cause I'm not gonna sell it. Future me can deal with that.
