My $8 tarp now beats my $140 tent in a downpour
Swapped my fancy dome tent for a cheap blue tarp and paracord after getting flooded out at a site near Lake Tahoe last May. The tarp sheds rain better because I finally learned a proper ridgeline knot instead of just staking corners. Anyone else ditch a pricey shelter for the dumb simple setup that just works?
