Fell for that $75 heated vest gimmick on the highway to Saskatoon
Bought one of those thin battery heated vests last month hoping to skip my usual three layers for a November ride... barely got 40 minutes of warmth before the pack died and I was shivering near Davidson. The thing felt like a damp towel by the time I pulled over. Anyone else tried these things on a real Canadian stretch, or am I stuck with my old fleece and a heated grip setup?

That "damp towel" bit nailed it. Same thing with mine, the battery heat just fades after the first 30 minutes and then you're hauling around dead weight. You're better off sticking with the fleece and heated grips, less to carry and it doesn't quit on you halfway to Moose Jaw.
