My heap died 40 km outside Sudbury on the way home from a group ride
So last Saturday I was heading back from a group ride near Sudbury and my bike just quit on me at a red light about 40 km out of town. No warning, no sputter, just dead. I pushed it to a Tim Hortons parking lot and sat there for like 20 minutes trying to figure out what happened. Turned out the battery terminal had worked itself loose from all the washboard roads we hit earlier that day. I didn't have a wrench on me, only a multi tool with a busted plier head, so I ended up using a nickel to tighten the bolt back down. Got it started on the third kick and limped the rest of the way home with my tail light flickering the whole time. Lesson learned, I'm putting a small socket set in my tank bag before the next ride out to Killarney. Has anyone else had a terminal rattle loose like that, and do you lock it down with anything extra?
