The day I found out I was storing my car wrong this whole time, and it was my tire pressure gauge that tipped me off
Been storing my Mustang in a rented garage unit for like 4 winters now. I always did the usual stuff, fuel stabilizer, battery tender, car cover. But last spring when I pulled it out, the tires were flat as pancakes on the bottom. I thought it was just cold weather or old tires. Then a buddy who does classic car storage came over and asked if I was overinflating before storage. I said no. He looked at my gauge, which I'd been using for years, and it was reading 5 psi lower than his digital one. So all this time I was underinflating, not over. Then he told me about how you should actually raise the car on jack stands to take weight off the tires, or at least pump them to max sidewall rating and move the car every few weeks. I never even considered the tires being a storage issue. I just figured parked is parked. Has anyone else dealt with flat spotting or tire damage from long term storage? What do you guys do before you tuck a car away for months?

Jack stands are overkill, but yeah, tires do flatten out after months sitting.
