Paid $200 for a resume review and it actually got me 3 interviews

I was stuck applying to jobs for 5 months with zero callbacks. A guy I used to work with in Denver told me to pay for a pro resume review, so I dropped $200 on one through a service he used. The reviewer cut my resume from 2 pages to 1 and told me my bullet points were just job duties, not results. Three weeks after I sent out the new version I had 3 interviews lined up. Did anyone else pay for help like this, or did you just wing it?
