Tried a new way to mark studs for a whole wall and it saved me hours
I was framing a basement in Cincinnati and got tired of marking each stud with a pencil and level. On the third wall, I grabbed a chalk line and snapped a straight line across all the plates at once at the 92 5/8 mark. Then I just lined up each stud under the chalk line before nailing. It cut my layout time for that wall from about 45 minutes to maybe 15. Has anyone else found a faster trick for this part of the job?

Love seeing a simple trick like that. It reminds me of how often the best fix is just stepping back from the task. I used to cut vegetables one at a time until a friend showed me how to line up a bunch and chop them all at once. Same basic idea, finding the one line that does the work of twenty separate marks.
