Guy at the supply house in Boise told me to stop stretching carpet with my knee, and he was right
I was picking up a roll of tack strip last Tuesday and an older installer I have known for a bit watched me kick a seam tight in the back of my van. He said plain as day, "Your knee is going to quit before your back does, and then you are done in this trade." I shrugged it off for about a week, then tried a power stretcher on a 12 by 14 bedroom in Meridian and the seam laid flatter with half the effort. My knee still aches on stairs, but I am not adding to it anymore. Any of you still kicking everything tight by hand, or did you switch over at some point?
