Old timer told me to use a power stretcher on every job, I didn't listen

Had a buddy who's been installing for 25 years keep telling me to always take the time with a power stretcher even on small rooms. I thought I could just knee kick a 10x12 bedroom and save 20 minutes. Got a call back 3 weeks later because there were ripples forming near the door. Had to pull the whole thing up and redo it with the power stretcher anyway. Anyone else learn this lesson the hard way?

Tbh I made that same mistake on a 12x14 and had a ripple show up right in the middle of the room. Now I just suck it up and break out the power stretcher no matter how small the job is.
