TIL that the old school carpet tacks I used to hate are actually making a comeback for some high end jobs. Read it in a trade magazine at the supply house.

Seriously? I just used them on a job last month. The old school tacks are perfect for stretching carpet tight around tricky corners. Glue and tape just don't give you the same control. It's a skill thing, and some guys never stopped using them.
