Batch cooking Sundays vs. nightly panic cooking, which side are you on?
I used to cook fresh every single night after work. By the time I got home at 6pm, I was starving and would grab whatever was fastest, usually pasta with jar sauce or frozen pizza. That ran me about $85 a week just for dinners. Then last October my friend Dana in Austin convinced me to try batch cooking on Sundays for 2 hours. Now I make one big pot of chili or a sheet pan of roasted veggies and chicken, portion it into 5 containers, and I'm spending closer to $45 a week. But I do miss the variety and the smell of cooking something new each night. The leftovers get boring by Thursday, and sometimes I just don't want the same thing two days in a row. Has anyone else switched to batch cooking and actually stuck with it, or did you all go back to nightly cooking when the boredom hit?
