PSA: I finally figured out why my knife was dull after every shift

I spent 6 months blaming the cheap steel at my station until a line cook pointed out I was scraping my blade across the cutting board to move chopped herbs. That habit alone wrecked my edge in about 2 weeks.

Two weeks to wreck an edge just from scraping herbs?

Man, that's wild. I've scraped my share of herbs and never had that happen. Sounds like bad steel to me.
