Am I the only one who thought those chimney camera systems were a scam?
I ran my sweep business in Buffalo for 11 years using just a flashlight and a mirror, and I laughed at a guy named Pete at the supply shop when he tried selling me a $260 camera kit back in March. Then a customer on Elmwood Ave swore her flue was clean, I put the camera down there, and found a bird nest the mirror never showed me. Now I won't do a level 2 inspection without it, and I've caught 3 cracks this season that would've been missed. What's the one tool you all thought was a gimmick until it saved your butt on a job?
