Spent $250 on a camera inspection unit, found a squirrel nest 14 feet down

Last month I bought one of those small sewer camera kits to check a customer's flue from below. Old house outside Columbus, and the draft felt wrong no matter what I did. The unit paid for itself in one job when I spotted a nest blocking the offset. I know some guys think these are overkill, but it saved me an extra trip and a lot of guessing. Anyone else use a camera regularly, or do you just trust the rods and brushes?

Man, once you get used to having eyes down there it's hard to go back. The rods and brushes work fine when you already know what's wrong, but that camera catches the stuff you'd never guess at, like that nest. Now I basically run the camera first on any flue that's acting weird. Saves me from climbing up and down three times trying to figure out if it's a bird, a brick, or just a bad liner.
