Swapped my steel brush for a poly one on a steep tile roof, big mistake
Had a job in Portland last Tuesday on a steep tile roof, and I chose the lighter poly brush to save my arms. It wore down after just 2 flues and left streaks all over the clay, so I had to redo everything with my old steel brush. Anyone else tried poly heads on tile and regretted it, or did I just get a bad batch?

Figured out the same thing years ago on a shake roof. The poly heads just don't have the bite for anything rougher than smooth asphalt shingles. They grab the dirt but skip over the texture, so you think you're cleaning but you're just painting streaks on top. Steel might wear your arms out, but at least it actually scrubs down into the grain instead of skating over it. You probably didn't get a bad batch either, they're all like that once they hit real grit. Have you tried keeping a spare steel head on the truck just for the tile jobs?
