Tried a twist on the polyurethane liner method with a spring load in Denver last week and the flue actually expanded 3 inches on me
I used a 10 foot flex liner instead of the standard 8 footer and the extra slack caused the creosote to bunch up at the bottom of the sweep, had me rerunning the brush for 45 minutes, anyone else run into weird liner lengths messing with your sweep routine?

Ugh thats the worst when the extra slack messes up the whole sweep.

Oh man that "extra slack caused the creosote to bunch up" part hit home. I had the same thing happen with a 12 footer on a job in Colorado Springs last fall. I ended up cutting off like 18 inches from the top before I even hung the liner and it made a huge diff for sweeping. The brush went through smooth after that. Another thing I tried was using a smaller diameter brush head on the first pass to break up any loose stuff before the real cleaning. That cut my time down a lot. I'd say just trim that extra slack before install next time if you can.
