Everyone talks about recycling right, but I keep seeing people toss greasy pizza boxes in the paper bin
At my station we sort our own waste, and I can't believe how many cardboard boxes get ruined by cheese and oil that can't be processed. Have any of you had luck convincing your local recycling center to accept them, or do you just compost them too?

Wait, isn't greasy cardboard basically useless for recycling anyway? I used to just toss everything in the bin without thinking, but seeing how much oil ruins the fibers changed my mind. Composting the clean parts and trashing the rest feels like the only honest move now.

Yep. Greasy cardboard is basically a lost cause for recycling. Those pizza boxes go straight to the landfill no matter how much you scrunch them. Composting the clean parts is the only way to sleep at night if you care about that stuff. Everything else just gets tossed.
