My $400 'green' home energy audit turned out to be a total waste
I paid a local company last month to do a full home energy audit, hoping to find ways to cut my carbon footprint. They spent two hours here, used a blower door, and gave me a 20-page report. The main suggestions were to add more attic insulation (which I already have a ton of) and to replace my windows, which are only 5 years old. I feel like I just paid for a sales pitch for stuff I don't need. Has anyone else had a good experience with a legit audit that actually found specific, useful fixes?
