Spent $400 on a home energy audit and got two totally different opinions
I paid a local company to come check my house for leaks and inefficiencies. The guy spent three hours here with a blower door and an infrared camera, gave me a huge report. One side says the audit was a waste because the main fix he suggested, new attic insulation, would cost over two grand and take fifteen years to pay off. The other side says it's worth it because it's not just about money, it's about using less energy overall and being more comfortable. Has anyone else gotten an audit and felt stuck between the cost and the climate benefit?

Man, that's the exact trap with this stuff.

But what if the trap is actually the only way to find the real fix? Like you have to fall in first to see the way out.

Sounds like a great way to find the bottom of a hole.
