Just realized I've been programming tool offsets all wrong for 8 years
I used to set all my tool heights by touching off on the part surface every time. Did it that way since I started on a Haas VF-2 in 2016. Switched last month to using a fixed renishaw probe and a dedicated reference tool. Cut my setup time from 15 minutes to about 4 minutes per job. Anyone else stubbornly stick with old methods way longer than they should have?

Respectfully, I see it a bit different on that "stubbornly stick with old methods" thing. Touching off on the part surface might take an extra few minutes but it builds good habits for when your probe decides to crap out mid shift. You can pry my simple tool setter out of my cold hands, but your mileage may vary on that one.
