My machine just hit 50,000 hours and the boss gave me a cake
I was checking the run time on our old Haas VF-2 yesterday, the one I've been running for like eight years. The screen said 50,001 hours. I did a double take and called the foreman over. He just laughed and said, "Well, it's still holding tenths, so I guess we got our money's worth." The crazy part is, I've probably personally put 30,000 of those hours on it myself. The owner heard about it and actually brought in a sheet cake this morning that said 'Happy 50k' in blue icing. It felt kinda silly celebrating a machine, but also cool knowing I've been the one keeping it going that long. Has anyone else had a machine hit a crazy high hour mark and it just kept on ticking?
