inHad a terrible dinner fail last Tuesday with my new instant pot
Honestly, the timer thing is the least of it with instant pots. I've learned the hard way that "chicken and rice" in one of those is basically asking for trouble unless you nail the liquid ratio. That's the real trap, not the timer. The pressure builds up different when rice is involved, and even a perfect timer won't save you if the grains just turn to paste from too much water. Next time try cutting the liquid by a quarter and use the natural release instead of quick.

inThe game store in Austin had a whole shelf of barely used copies of the same expansion
Funny you mention that. I saw a YouTube video last week where a guy in California found an entire pallet of sealed board games at a Goodwill, all from the same collection. Must be some kind of pattern with people buying up inventory and then realizing they don't have the space or the group for it. Twenty copies of the same thing is wild though, what was the owner even thinking? Maybe he was hoping to flip them online but the market just wasn't there.

inThe difference a good drafting table lamp made for my eyes
@tyler_white42 something that doesn't get brought up much is how the color of your walls and desk can mess with how the light looks. I had my lamp set at a perfect 4000K but my desk was this dark wood and my walls were beige so everything looked yellowish no matter what. Turns out the light was bouncing off surfaces and changing the whole feel. Once I put a white mat under my work, suddenly that neutral temp actually showed up neutral. Just something to check before you drop money on a fancy lamp you might end up hating because of your room setup.

inChat with a grower at the Philly market changed how I see stems
Read something similar not too long ago in some florist trade blog. Said leaving leaves actually helps draw water up the stem through transpiration. Makes sense when you think about it like a straw, leaves create that pull. I know I used to strip everything bare because I thought it looked cleaner but now I leave a few on especially for stuff like stock or snapdragons. The old timers definitely know a thing or two that the books don't always teach you.

inJust had a stretch of 5 back-to-back clients this week and every single one actually listened to my home care advice for once
Oh man, that's basically the esthetician's lottery jackpot.
