Wasted $200 on a cheap spindle before realizing I should have just bought a real one
Bought a no-name 2.2kw spindle off Amazon 3 months back. Worked fine for like 2 weeks then started making this grinding noise. Took it apart and the bearings were already shot. Now I gotta buy a proper one from a real supplier. That $200 is just gone. Anyone else learn this lesson the hard way?

Did you check if the spindle had any kind of warranty or if Amazon would help you out? Sometimes theyre pretty good about refunds even if its been a couple months. But yeah that sucks, I went through two of those cheap spindles myself before I finally gave up and got one from a real supplier. The bearings are always the first thing to go on those things, they just use the cheapest junk they can find. Its like buying a budget router bit set and wondering why it burns your wood after five minutes.

Check the spindle taper for burrs before blaming the bearings.
