Finally figured out why my old long boxes sucked compared to the new plastic ones

I kept having issues with my comics getting bent corners in those old cardboard long boxes from the 90s. Switched to the BCW plastic bins last month and the difference is huge - the lids lock tight and they stack way better in my closet. Total cost was like $60 for 5 of them at my local shop in Austin. Has anyone else noticed their old cardboard boxes just falling apart after a few moves?

My buddy's cardboard box just gave out during a move and dumped his entire Amazing Spider-Man run on the sidewalk.

Man those old cardboard long boxes are the worst. I had a stack of them from the late 90s and by the time I moved in 2019 they were basically held together with packing tape. The corners would get all bent and the flaps would just tear off if you looked at them wrong. The BCW plastic ones are a total game changer though. I picked up 6 of them back in March for about $70 total and they stack so clean in my closet now. Plus they don't get that musty smell cardboard gets after a few years in a humid room. I still keep a few cardboard ones for back issues I don't care as much about but the plastic ones are definitely worth the money if you want your books to stay minty.
