I finally figured out why my dollar bin comics were falling apart faster than my bagged ones
Turns out those cheap poly bags I bought off Amazon for like $15 for 200 are actually breaking down and causing the pages to yellow. Switched to Mylar bags on just 5 issues about 8 months ago and they still look mint compared to the poly ones. Has anyone else noticed a difference with Mylar or am I just lucky?

Oh man, I totally feel you on those cheap Amazon poly bags... I bought a pack of 100 from some random seller and thought I was saving money, but now I've got a stack of early 2000s books with that weird sticky residue and yellowing around the edges. It's so frustrating when you think you're being smart with your collection but it backfires like that. I switched to Mylar for my key issues last year and the difference is night and day, especially on older books with white covers. The poly bags just feel flimsy and greasy now when I take them out... it's like they're actively working against the paper. Wish I'd known sooner but at least we figured it out before too much damage was done.

Have you noticed the Mylar bags feel way stiffer than you expected at first, or is that just me? They definitely hold their shape better than those flimsy poly ones though.
