I got lost in Barcelona and found a whole street debating Superman's cape length
They had measuring tapes and everything, it was like a science fair. I missed my bus because I had to hear the end, lol.

Honestly that's the kind of local culture you just can't get from a guidebook. I'm picturing two old guys waving rolled-up newspapers, one yelling about post-Crisis continuity and the other swearing by the Fleischer cartoons. Missing your bus is a small price to pay for that level of nerd lore, they probably settled it with a fistfight over whether the cape is part of the suit or an accessory.

Oh man, I got stuck listening to a full blown argument over Batman's voice once. One guy was all about the Kevin Conroy growl, the other was insisting the Adam West delivery was the only "true" Batman. I just sat on the bench and ate my sandwich, best free entertainment ever.

Barcelona's random street debates sound amazing. I'm stuck on the cape length thing though. Did they ever agree on a standard measurement, like from the comics or movies? I mean, in the Christopher Reeve films it's one length, but in Man of Steel it's totally different. Which version were they using as reference? And did anyone bring up how the cape flows in flight, because that has to affect how long it looks.
