Ran into an old collector at a con last Saturday who made me question my whole pull list approach

So this guy in his 60s was flipping through dollar bins while I was hunting for variant covers. He told me he stopped collecting single issues in 1985 and only reads trades now, said something like "you're buying paper, not stories." Honestly it hit different because I've been dropping like $80 a month on floppies I barely even read. But then again, I love the Wednesday ritual and the smell of fresh ink. Anyone else stuck between the weekly hunt and just waiting for collected editions?

Oh man, that hits hard! I totally get that Wednesday ritual thing though, there's just something about grabbing fresh books that trades can't replace (even if my wallet disagrees). You're definitely not alone in feeling pulled both ways on this.

Oh man, that Wednesday ritual is real though. Even when I know I'm gonna let those floppies sit in a box for years, there's nothing like that fresh book smell and the excitement of pulling something you've been waiting on.
