TIL comparing the new comic shop in town to my old spot made me realize how much a welcoming staff matters.

I went to 'The Panel Palace' for a year because it was closer, but after one visit to 'Comic Vault' where the owner remembered my name and pulled a back issue I'd mentioned, I switched my whole pull list over because that personal touch is what being a fan is really about, you know?

The Panel Palace had you for a whole year and the staff never learned your name? That's wild to me. My old shop, even the part-time college kid knew I was a Spider-Man guy by the second visit. A year is a long time to just be another customer in line.

A whole YEAR and they never learned your name? @blake432, that's actually kind of sad. The regulars at my spot get asked about their weekend by the third week. You must have been a ghost in that store.
