Can we talk about my Kirby Morgan mask visor shattering at 40 feet?

Was doing inspections off the coast of Galveston last Tuesday when a crack spread right across my visor mid-dive. Had to abort and surface slow, anyone else had a face shield fail on them like that?

Honestly, at least you got a cool story out of it and didn't have to explain a sudden bubble beard to your supervisor. Next time try the cheap plastic ones from Harbor Freight.

Yeah @jakewilliams has it right about the cheap plastic ones, that's what I use now and they work fine. I learned the hard way that the expensive metal detectors aren't always worth the hassle when you're just looking for a quick disconnect. The Harbor Freight ones might break after a few uses but at least you won't be on your knees with a pair of pliers like I was last month.
