My dive buddy showed me a trick for dealing with strong currents

I just learned how to angle my body to reduce drag in heavy flow. It saved me a ton of energy on my last job. You basically lean into it like you're walking uphill.

How do you adjust the angle for different currents?

We had a crazy strong current at Shark Reef last month. What I do is lean my whole body into it, almost like I'm walking against a stiff wind. That lets the water flow over my back and tank instead of pushing me around. I also shorten my fin kicks and really dig in with my heels to get some grip.

A buddy of mine tried that lean-in trick on a drift dive last year. He said it made a huge difference in fighting the current.
