TIL my umbilical got pinched on a pipeline job and it took 3 days to find
Honestly the dive went fine on the bottom, but the comms kept cutting in and out and we blamed everything from the hat to the pot before we found a kink in the hose about 40 feet back. Ngl it took 3 days on a job in Port Fourchon to trace it, and the whole time the client was breathing down our necks. Anybody got a trick for checking their umbilical before a run so this doesnt happen again?
