Had to pick between a full reimage or a deep malware hunt on a family laptop
The machine was crawling, and the owner said they couldn't lose their photos. A full Windows reset would have been the fast fix, but I spent about 4 hours running scans and manually digging through AppData instead. Found a nasty bundle hiding in the temp folders. Got it clean and kept all their files in place. Anyone else ever go the long way to save a client's data when a wipe was easier?
