I chose refurbished enterprise gear over new consumer hardware for my home lab
Everyone told me to just buy a new Synology or QNAP for my home server setup in Austin last spring. I went the other way and grabbed a used Dell PowerEdge R730 from a recycler for $350 instead. It has dual Xeons, 128GB of RAM, and redundant power supplies that have run nonstop for 9 months without a single hiccup. Has anyone else found that old enterprise stuff beats new consumer gear for reliability?

That R730 will probably outlast three consumer NAS boxes combined.

Gotta disagree a bit @ben402, the PSUs in those R730s are the first thing to go.
