I was cleaning thermal paste wrong for almost a decade

About six months ago, a new guy at the shop watched me use a paper towel and a dab of isopropyl alcohol on a CPU. He quietly asked, 'You ever try the coffee filter trick?' I had no idea what he meant. He showed me how a plain white coffee filter leaves zero lint behind, unlike paper towels or even some cloths that can leave tiny bits. I tried it on the next three builds and the difference was clear, especially on those bare-die laptop chips. It's one of those small things you never think to question until someone points it out. Has anyone else picked up a simple trick like that way later than they should have?

Coffee filters are a game changer, though @lane.joel's shirt method gives me secondhand anxiety.

Seriously, it's just coffee grounds. A little mess never hurt anyone. People act like it's a huge deal. Shirt method works fine in a pinch. Not worth the stress.
