A guy at the coffee shop said he never uses a power trowel on driveways

I mean, I was grabbing coffee before a pour in Springfield and this older finisher was there. He said he only hand floats driveways because power trowels can burn the surface and leave it slick when it rains. He claimed his work in the same neighborhood for 20 years has zero callbacks for slick spots. I've always used my power trowel for everything to save time. But his point about safety and longevity got me thinking. Has anyone else switched methods for residential work after a certain point?

Wait, zero callbacks in 20 years? That's wild.

I mean, 20 years is a long time to not get a single callback. Something doesn't add up there.
