Paid $75 for a used Fresno trowel at a pawn shop in Tulsa, and it got me out of a jam last Friday
I was pouring a 12x14 patio for a guy out near Broken Arrow and about halfway through the finish my old trowel handle snapped clean off. I keep a spare in the truck but that one was already cracked too. Dug around and remembered the used Fresno I grabbed for $75 at a pawn shop in Tulsa two months ago, still had good rivets and a broken-in blade. That thing floated the rest of the pour smooth with no chatter and the homeowner even said it looked store bought. If I had driven 20 minutes to the supply house I would have lost the edge on that slab for sure. Anyone else keep a beater trowel in the truck just for backup, or do you just roll the dice on one blade?
