inThat chat with an old timer about lens fungus cleaning
Hold up, I gotta push back on this one a little. Mixing hydrogen peroxide and ammonia sounds like a fast way to eat through lens coatings if you're not careful. Peroxide is a strong oxidizer and ammonia is a base, that combo could fizz and cause micro crazing in the glass over time. In my experience, most fungus lives on the outer elements or near the edges, and alcohol wipes with a little patience usually do the job without risking anything. Chuck might have been a repair guy, but that doesn't mean every secret recipe from the 80s holds up to modern lens coatings. Your mileage may vary of course, but I'd stick to the gentle stuff and avoid becoming a chemistry set.

inUnpopular opinion: coworking spaces are actually worse for my focus
Exactly what nobody talks about is how coworking spaces mess with your brain's unconscious tracking system. Your peripheral vision is constantly registering motion from people walking by and that keeps a tiny part of your attention busy even when you think you're focused. It's like having a bunch of tabs open in the back of your mind that you can't fully close, which drains mental energy over time without you really noticing.

inLooked up the failure rate on wireless sensors yesterday and it messed with my head
3% over 5 years means for a typical 30-sensor install you've got almost a 1 in 1 chance one of them will flake out. And no, it's not just dead batteries, I've seen transmitters straight up lose sync with the panel for no reason. Replacing a bad sensor after the drywall is up costs way more than running wire in the first place.
