PSA: Check your mix water temp when the truck shows up cold
Poured a 12x20 driveway in Boise last Thursday and the first truck rolled in at 48 degrees because it sat at the plant for almost two hours. We didn't catch it until the slump was way off and we were already spreading. Ended up with two cold joints that I had to saw out and patch on my own dime, about $600 in mud and labor gone. Now I keep an infrared thermometer in the truck and check every load before it hits the chute. Anybody else get burned by a cold batch this spring, or is it just me being paranoid?
