Question about curing blankets in cold weather

I always thought those fancy insulated curing blankets were overpriced gimmicks, but after a pour in late November near Denver where the temp dropped to 18 degrees overnight, I had zero cracks while the guy next to me using old tarps had his slab ruined. What convinced you skeptics out there that a certain tool or method actually made a difference?

That first 18 degree night with a curing blanket changed my mind too.

Used to think blankets were overkill, but man that first really cold night proved me wrong.
