That 4 AM pour in Denver changed how I read slump specs

I read a city code update from Denver Public Works about truck wait times and how it affects mix slump. Turns out every 30 minutes past the 90 minute window, the slump can drop over an inch even with superplasticizer. Last Tuesday we had a truck sit on I-25 for 40 minutes and I kept adding water to keep it workable, which I now know was a waste. The spec sheet said 5 inch slump when it left the plant, but we were floating a 3 inch mess by the time it hit the forms. Anyone else ever test slump right at the chute versus after a delay and see that big of a difference?
